Firstly, there are a whopping 128 keyboard sounds from pianos to synths, strings, brass, and sound effects, as well as 10 drum kits with 16 sounds in each. Just do it.As far as internal sounds go, I was pleasantly surprised by two things. Free and feature rich… kind of a no brainer decision. If you been delaying including analytics in your game, this is – sorry to be blunt – the end of your excuses. GameAnalytics is a very well built and well featured free analytics platform with a number of added-value services. Together with the platform it is a turn key game analytics service. These include ad-hoc analysis, business intelligence and soft launch support. GameAnalytics offers professional services to complement their platform. Seriously… if it’s good and free… what’s the catch? GameAnalytics has integrations with the largest user acquisition partners so that part is covered and you are able to create your own dashboards and visualisations which is always handy for further data exploration. It goes beyond this by offering built-in benchmarks to compare your metrics versus how the market is doing, resource usage to track game economy, in-game progression, funnels and error reporting. The built-in dashboards have all the metrics I consider standard: daily vanity metrics, daily monetisation metrics and cohort analysis, emphasis on retention rates. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that if I recommend an analytics platform it goes beyond the basic reporting stuff. Game Analytics smooths the entry point considerably, yet it is not not a limited platform. So let me get the perfect scenario out of the way… if you are a developer that wants game analytics but is worried with costs or heard of game analytics and don’t know where to start, then you are the kind of developer that I recommend using Game Analytics. Therefor they don’t know what is the best usage for them. This time I cannot really keep the text going to the point where I describe the usage because I believe the developers that will benefit the most from using Game Analytics are the ones that have not used analytics in their games. I feel such a description helps the choice of platform more that endlessly comparing features. If you have been reading my reviews on analytics platforms you’ve probably noticed that I give my opinion on what is the best usage for each platform. This democratizes access to game analytics to any developer. What does this have to do with GameAnalytics, you ask? Simple… it is free and good. This benefits large studios that have the money to hire analytics solutions or manpower to create their own. Things have changed in the last 2 or 3 years but the honest truth is that it is possible to find the three cases. Truth be told, this was back when I did flash games almost a decade ago but this was the offer back then. When I added events for the first time in a game, an analytics platform was either basic, a work in progress with little knowledge of how to use analytics or very expensive. To explain why GameAnalytics is important and relevant I have to tell a little story… so… bear with me for a minute… GameAnalytics is built from scratch with videogames in mind. No, I’m not repeating myself, it really is GameAnalytics! And rightfully so. Today’s post is about the game analytics platform called GameAnalytics. My objective is to state what each platform offers and what makes it unique so that it helps game developers in the process of picking a platform if they choose to do so. My knowledge of the platforms comes from demos they made by my request or hands on experience working with them. None of these posts were asked for or sponsored by any of the companies that own the platforms. This post is part of a series of posts about analytics platforms that I would use and recommend using for game analytics.
